  • The Brian and Karl-directed video that accompanied the third single from Blood Red Shoes' eponymous album was the focus of considerable controversy. It portrayed a singer bleeding to death on stage and was unsurprisingly banned by MTV. Commenting on the clip, guitarist Laura-Mary Carter explained: "With 'Speech Coma' we wanted the video to represent the unsettling nature of the song. We liked the idea of it being gory, weird and unnerving."
