Songfacts®:

  • This strip club anthem was Los Angeles rapper Blueface's breakthrough hit. He told Genius it was inspired by his love for "thots, sluts, whores."
  • A "thot" is a girl who posts nude and pornographic pictures of themselves on social media. Blueface told Genius that the word "Thotiana" was the starting point of the song. "I had Thotiana," he said. "I just had to fill in the blanks."
  • The LA, rapper was accused of rapping offbeat. He responded by saying he wrote the song to regular collaborator Scum Beat's instrumentation. "I wouldn't have had 'Thotiana' if I didn't hear the beat first," Blueface said.
  • Blueface dropped a remix featuring YG on January 25, 2019. A second remix featuring Cardi B was released on February 16, 2019, along with a five-minute version of the track combining both remixes.
