  • Gorillaz tunesmith Damon Albarn recruited Chicago house singer Jamie Principle for this song. His 1984 original version of "Your Love" is cited by many as the first-ever house track.
  • Principle recalled the story of the song to Q Magazine: "We were having lunch and Damon was reading this article which mentioned the words sex, murder and party, so we thought it would be a wicked song to do. (Producer) Twilite Tone came up with a Beat and we started putting it together. Damon wants you just to be yourself and put your personality into the music."
  • The dark, alternative US rapper Zebra Katz spits the second verse. He recalled: "I heard what Jamie had lay down and then I wrote something and bounced ideas around in the studio. The only other experience I've had like that was working at Rick Rubin's studio. It was a really open, fun, encouraging environment to be who I was and say what I need to say."
