Songfacts®:

  • Lady & Gentlemen finds Rimes reinterpreting and singing classic songs by various male country greats from a woman's perspective. "This album was born out of when I first fell in love with Country music and I realized that almost all of my favorite songs were sung by men," said the singer. "I am honored to take a step back in time and sing these songs from a woman's perspective and hopefully help reintroduce them to a new audience."
  • This uptempo cut about how love makes everyone crazy sometimes is the one brand new song on LeAnn Rimes' 13th album, Lady & Gentlemen. Said Rimes: "It's just such a fun song to sing along and laugh with. After completing this album of songs by some of the most infamous men in country music to drive women crazy in love, I thought this song was a perfect addition to the album!"
  • This was written by prolific country songwriters Brandy Clark, Jessie Jo Dillon, and Shane McAnally. Clark told Songwriter Universe how the track came together after she brought the idea to her co-writing team:

"There's a song called 'Crazy Women' that Shane and Jessie Jo Dillon and I wrote. I had completely written that song by myself. It was a completely different song, but I had that idea that crazy women are made by crazy men, and I just knew it wasn't right. I took just the idea to them. I never showed them the lyrics or any of the music I had because I knew it was wrong, but I knew what roads not to go down already. So, that was kind of invaluable."

The trio also collaborated on "Girl Next Door" from Clark's second studio album, Big Day In A Small Town.
  • Brandy Clark also recorded this for her 2013 debut album, 12 Stories.
  • Rimes' version peaked at #40 on the Country chart.
