Songfacts®:

  • Rimes had an affair in 2009 with actor Eddie Cibrian while still married to dancer Dean Sheremet. Once it was discovered and made public, Cibrian's wife Brandi Glanville kicked her husband out, and engaged in a Twitter feud with her love rival. This whimsical track was the last song Rimes wrote for Spitfire. She explained to reporters during a live preview of the album that it was inspired by empathy she started to feel towards Glanville, despite their once-public battle.
  • Rimes wrote this with her longtime collaborator Darrell Brown and Nathan Chapman, who is known for co-producing several Taylor Swift albums, including Red and 1989.
  • Peaking at #36, Spitfire was Rimes' last studio album to reach the Top 40 in the US. In the UK, it peaked at #3 on the Country Albums chart.
