Songfacts®:

  • "I Do It" is a rousing collaboration between Lil Wayne, Big Sean, and Lil Baby. On the track, the three rappers explain that their privileged lifestyles come from their hard work and putting themselves first.
  • Lil Wayne and Big Sean are regular collaborators - "I Do It" was the eighth time they worked together. Their previous hook-ups include two US Top 40 hits: Sean's "Beware" and Weezy's "My Homies Still."
  • The song is the first time Wayne collaborated with Lil Baby. Speaking in a July 2019 XXL interview, Weezy explained that the Atlanta rapper insisted on working with him in a studio rather than swapping files. "We got to do the session together," he said. "We was out here in New York, not long ago. Probably a month ago. It was him, I, and Big Sean."
  • The production is supplied by:

Rex Kudo, who has also worked with the likes of Roddy Ricch ("Die Young"), Future and Young Thug ("Patek Water").

Charlie Handsome, whose resumé includes two Khalid hit songs: the Texan singer's duet with Normani, "Love Lies," and his solo tune "Better."

Other collaborations between Kudo and Handsome include Post Malone's Stoney track "Go Flex."
