Songfacts®:

  • Wanderlust is a collaborative album between Little Big Town and songwriter/producer Pharrell Williams. Pharrell joined the group to perform this song at the Grand Ole Opry on June 8, 2016. "He's from Virginia and he loves country music," Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild said as Williams took the stage to a standing ovation.
  • Pharrell Williams revealed to Entertainment Tonight that Justin Timberlake contributed background vocals for the song. "We were in the same studio at the same time. So we had Justin in one room. Little Big Town in another room," he recalled. "Quite naturally, people are going to visit each other and Justin ended up singing on one of the songs."

Karen Fairchild added, "It was like the old days when artists used to hang out in the studio and you might hop in and listen to somebody's song. He came down and listened to what we were doing. He was like, 'Oh my gosh, what if I sang this?'"

"It was very fun, and he's a Tennessee boy," she continued. "Obviously [Timberlake and Williams] have a deep friendship for many years, so it was really cool."

Pharrell Williams contributed heavily to Justin Timberlake's solo debut, Justified. Timberlake revealed an interest in country music when he made a surprise appearance at the 2015 CMAs performing a duet medley with Chris Stapleton of "Drink You Away" and "Tennessee Whiskey."
