  • Jacksonville, Alabama, native Riley Green released his first self-titled EP in 2013 and received his first big break a year later as a contestant on the fourth season of CMT's reality series Redneck Island. This is his first single after being signed to Big Machine Records.
  • Green wrote this neotraditional country track with his buddy Kansas singer singer-songwriter Erik Dylan in Nashville. He recalled to ABC News how the tune started with them talking about some of the dumb things they'd done growing up. "That was the excuse we kept coming up with, that there was this girl."

"And that sounded like a song," Green continued. "Sounded like something I've said a million times before, and probably a lot of guys have. So we wrote it, and it turned into like a nineties country sound, which I love."
  • Riley Green made his television debut on January 7, 2019 when he hit the stage live from the Today Show to perform this song.
