Songfacts®:

  • This song is a remixed version of the Notorious B.I.G. song "Nasty Boy," which appeared on his 1997 album Life After Death, which was released shortly after he was killed in a shooting. The remix contains additional vocals from Diddy, Nelly, Jagged Edge and Avery Storm, and was transformed into a totally different song with only the original lyrical sample from Notorious B.I.G. remaining. Despite this he still retains the credit as the main artist, so 9 years after his death, Notorious B.I.G. had his first UK chart topper.
  • According to The Notorious B.I.G., he was working on "Nasty Boy" in a New York studio on the morning of September 7, 1996 when he was questioned about his possible involvement in the murder of rival rapper Tupac Shakur on that day.
  • In addition to the featured artists, the video contains guest appearances from Pharrell Williams, Usher, Fat Joe and Naomi Campbell among others. Campbell appears near the end when she responds to a man asking her, "Aren't you one of those Top Model girls?" by slapping him.
