  • The last Yardbirds single, "Goodnight Sweet Josephine" was produced by Mickie Most and written by Tony Hazzard - Most also recorded the Hazzard composition "Ha Ha Said the Clown" with the group.
  • The song is about a temptress who traps men in her "net of ecstasy." According to songwriter Tony Hazzard, it's not based on a real person. In our interview with Hazzard, he explained: "I used to drink in a little pub called The Rose And Crown in Clapham Old Town, South London. It tended to be frequented by CID (police). I think I got the idea from spending time there."
