Songfacts®:

  • This song finds Tori Kelly and Lecrae talking about how God uses life's struggles to make us into masterpieces.

    It's so crazy to me
    How mistakes can be
    A blessing in disguise
Lord, I'm so glad You're making me
    A masterpiece
  • Tori Kelly has known Lecrae for a long time; she previously hooked up with the rapper on his "I'll Find You" track. The singer told The Idolator that after that collaboration, she thought it would be cool if jumped on one of her songs. Working with Kirk Franklin on her Hidden Place album, Kelly thought it was the perfect opportunity to reach out to Lecrae because he and Franklin know each other as well.

"It was really easy," Kelly said. "I literally just texted him and said, 'Do you want to be on this song?' He did it in a heartbeat."
