Songfacts®:

  • Ty Dolla $ign's debut album, Free TC, is named after his younger brother, Gabriel "TC" Griffin, who is in prison for a crime that he allegedly didn't commit. "He got life in prison for a murder he didn't do," Ty told Billboard magazine. "The mass incarceration going on in this country and with my people is crazy. People are getting locked up every day for s--t they didn't do."
  • This song starts off with an a cappella verse that TC recorded in jail. "He's dead to the world," Ty said, "but there's still a chance. God may change this for him. I got all the women and everything I want, but my brother is locked up. I can't leave him behind."
