Songfacts®:

  • The lead single from YG's Still Krazy album is the rapper's first release following an incident when he was shot in the hip. He describes the incident during his rhymes:

I'm the only one that's about what he say
The only one that got hit and was walking the same day
I tried to pop first, got popped back
Got hit in the hip, couldn't pop back
    .

"I got shot one time. It was three bullet holes because it went in, went out and went back in again," YG told Billboard magazine. "It was not gang-related at all. It just happened out of the blue. We don't know who did it, we don't know why."

"'Twist My Fingaz' is a statement record letting everybody know I'm back and still krazy!" YG said in a press release.
  • The song title references YG twisting his middle and ring fingers over each other to form a W. The Compton rapper does this to signify his gang affiliation (west side Bloods).
