  • Pick me up
    Been bleeding too long
    Right here, right now
    I'll stop it somehow

I will make it go away
    Can't be here no more
Seems this is the only way
    I will soon be gone
    These feelings will be gone
    These feelings will be gone

Now I see the times, they change
    Leaving doesn't seem so strange
I am hoping I can find
Where to leave my hurt behind
All this shit I seem to take
All alone I seem to break
I have lived the best I can
Does this make me not a man?

    Shut me off
    I am ready
    Heart stops
    I stand alone
    Can't be on my own

I will make it go away
    Can't be here no more
Seems this is the only way
    I will soon be gone
    These feelings will be gone
    These feelings will be gone

Now I see the times, they change
    Leaving doesn't seem so strange
I am hoping I can find
Where to leave my hurt behind
All this shit I seem to take
All alone I seem to break
I have lived the best I can
Does this make me not a man?

Am I going to leave this place?
What is it I'm hanging from?
Is there nothing more to come? (Am I gonna leave this place?)
Is it always black in space?
Am I going to take its place?
Am I going to leave this race? (Am I going to leave this race?)
I guess God's up in this place?
What is it that I've become?
Is there something more to come?
    More to come

Now I see the times, they change
    Leaving doesn't seem so strange
I am hoping I can find
Where to leave my hurt behind
All this shit I seem to take
All alone I seem to break
I have lived the best I can
Does this make me not a man?

Now I see the times, they change
    Leaving doesn't seem so strange
I am hoping I can find
Where to leave my hurt behind
All this shit I seem to take
All alone I seem to break

  • Amelia from UtWhen I listen to this song I hear him crying out to God.

Pick me up been bleeding too long.

Despair has taken over and death of the ego becomes the only answer for relief. The band members are simply reflections of his ego and how he sees himself on the inside.

He believes killing those parts of him off will bring him peace and a better perspective from God's point of view.

    Right here, Right now.
    I'll stop it somehow
I will make it go away
    Can't be here no more
Seems it is the only way
    I will soon be gone
    These feelings will be gone
    These feelings will be gone

Alone I break was released almost a decade before AHS murder house debuted.
  • Antonio from ChileIt seems like suicide. I think it’s obvious.
  • Treff from Concordia, KsWas the video what inspired American Horror Story: Murder house? Same house, similar subject matter
  • Chris from Manchester, CtI've always seen it as an emotional state shown as a physical location, and a place in which Johnathan Davis inhabits.

"Am I going to leave this place?
What is it I'm running from?
Is there nothing more to come?
(Am I gonna leave this place?)

Is it always black in space?
Am I going to take its place?
Am I going to win this race?
(Am I going to leave this race?)

I guess God's up in this place?
What is it that I've become?
Is there something more to come?"
  • Hannah from Gratz, PaI really get strong suicide vibes from this song. "I will make it go away, Seems this is the only way, I will soon be gone." Very suicidal to me.
  • Zero from Nowhere, NjMunky and Head used 14-string acoustic guitars on this song (the chorus). Just compare how a 12-string is to a 6-string, a 14-string is to a 7-string (an octave string next to every regular string).
  • Shemas from Hayden, Coquite frankly stu you realy cant aurgue with the person who wrote the song about its definishon they knew the point they were triing to get across and thats that
  • Mark from Fort Walton Beach, Flthis seems like a suicide note
  • Mark from Warwick, NyWow, Sarah. I think you just nailed it. I just joined this site just to respond to your post. Music has played a huge part in my life, almost like therapy. Anyway, back to the song, I think JD was borderline on a "suicidal feeling" on this song. Thats why its so powerfull. You really dont know if it's going towards suicide(despite the video) or just that feeling that your not tough enough to deal.
  • Landon from Winchester, OhIt's basically about how sometimes we all get upset about hard times in our lives, and we must let all the misery go and let out the frustration. A lot of the Korn members we having a hard time on tour, with problems such as divorces, and they wondered "Does it make me less of a man if I get upset about stuff?" It's a really dark tune, combining anger with tiring sadness, a wide chorus, and mysterious humming, adding up to a very nice song.
  • Taylor from Pueblo, CoThis song is awsome!!!!
  • Cortney from Grand Junction, CoI belive the song is about having so many problems and emotions and not knowing how to cope with them,so the person is thinking about commiting suicide.
  • Terri from Detroit, MiJonathan Davis comments on meaning
"I wrote that song in my house, before I put the studio in there. I had the drumming down, and Munky came in and laid some guitars over it, and it became this great song. It's one of my favorite songs that we've done. It's very different from what we're used to doing, and it really hits home. It was one of those moments when I was very depressed...That whole time around Untouchables, everybody in the band was going through all this bad stuff. And I was just feelin' it, so I wrote this song about being alone and breaking down, and not feeling like a man's supposed to feel. You're supposed to be tough and take all this problems. So I'm basically saying, 'Does it make me not a man if I'm upset about stuff?' "

  • Stu from Dayton, OhI have a better idea what the song is about
