Songfacts®:

  • "Raving In The Studio" is what happens when a sharp-tongued Mancunian rapper collides headfirst with an electrified drum and bass beat. The song, a collaboration between Aitch and fellow Manchester native and producer Bou, is Aitch's first foray into the drum and bass genre. It was put together at NQ House, a cutting-edge creative hub in Manchester, and unleashed on January 17, 2025.
  • The song samples Gorillaz's 2005 single "Feel Good Inc." featuring De La Soul. The release date of "Raving In The Studio" coincides with the 20th anniversary of the original Gorillaz track.

A couple of years previously, Aitch had a studio session with Gorillaz's Damon Albarn. "We made a couple songs, whatever, nothing came of it," Aitch recalled. "That was that - not spoke to him since. Me and Bou made this tune, and he's absolutely super blessed us. It's his original vocal. He loves the song... and he's a legend."
  • To launch the single with suitable fanfare, Aitch took to the stage during Bou's DNB All Stars set at Manchester's Warehouse Project in December 2024. The performance, shared on TikTok, gained a life of its own, racking up views and sending fans into a frenzy. The accompanying music video, directed by Kelvin Jones, captures the energy of that night.
